WHAT IN THE WORLD IS CAMP MEETING?

Simply put....Campmeeting is a reunion.  A reunion with God and a reunion with members of His family.  It is a wonderfully refreshing time in His presence and a great time for reconnecting with old friends and making new ones.  It is a family affair.  In this day when so many summer activities split families apart, this is a time for families to come together and enjoy the camping experience and the times of Bible Study and worship.  Campmeeting is a unique 150 year old tradition that, I pray, will never be outdated or discontinued.  I know that it is a time that I need each summer to be refreshed and renewed.
   
It is a time for fishing, boating, swimming, camp fires, and long talks.  It is a time for Bible Study, Prayer, and Worship.  It is a time for renewing friendships and making new friends.  It is a time for reflection and a time for dreaming.  It is a time in His presence    when time itself seems to slow down a bit and you are transported back to a simpler way of life.  I have found nothing quite like it.

 Might the fire of His Spirit burn brightly in your heart and might its' warmth and light be a point of peace and illumination to the lost around you.  Might the camp fires of Camp Meetings continue to burn for decades to come.  Now it's back to "real" life and the opportunity to, with revived spirits, serve our risen Savior.
