A Plaza Of Praise

Lapeer (MI) Church of the Nazarene

The Lapeer, Michigan Church of the Nazarene is a special place of worship and fellowship.  It is a place where families gather together in warm, comfortable surroundings to hear the Word, praise the Lord, and fellowship . A rebirth of sorts occurred a few years ago when the congregation "temporarily" relocated to the Lake Nepessing Plaza.

Other properties had been purchased but it became evident that this wonderful location and modern facility were where the Lord desired for them to be.  Other options were considered but nothing seemed to fit as well and it became apparent that this was to be their home.  With great faith and a sense of excitement they purchased the entire complex and leased about half to local concerns.

Now they only have two tenants remaining and the entire long part of the center has been beautifully remodeled into offices, classrooms, welcome area, and Worship Center.  The friendliness of these Christ followers is felt as soon as you walk in the door and it continues until the Pastor (always the last to leave) turns out the lights and locks the doors.  It has become a special place filled with special people.  About 30% of the growing church were not here when I last held revival two years ago.

Pastor Andrew Jolly and his wife, Lisa, are another young anointed parsonage couple of whom their church can be proud.  I am also proud to have Drew as a cousin.  He has a heart for God and the people God has entrusted to him.

Our services were filled with spontaneous indications of the moving of His Holy Spirit and I believe some commitments were made that will make a difference in the churchscape for years to come.  A place originally built to provide a place to market services and goods is now a place to provide the Body of Christ with "services" and the good news.  It is a miracle in the making!
