We Have "Lift Off"

The dream of a ministry to help local churches with whatever speaking needs they may have is officially off the ground! Free to Fly Ministries will be at the Plymouth Church of the Nazarene in Plymouth, Michigan for the weekend of November 19th through the 21st. Preaching services and a Fall Harvest Banquet will be shared with Pastor Fred Hall and his people. Begin to pray that the Lord will make that weekend exactly what He would want it to be!

The vision for this ministry is fresh and how it will take shape is in the hands of an almighty God! He is greater than any need, bigger than any dream, and able to do "exceedingly abundantly above!"

With the benefit of "free" flights I have been flying a lot these last 4 years. Trips to see children and grandchildren in the mid west, trips to see friends who are a long way away, and trips for wonderful vacations with my spouse have all been part of the blessing. Yet, even with all the flying, there is still a slight fear and a definite rush as the aircraft's engines come to full life and the plane is propelled down the runway toward takeoff. It is always a relief when the wheels leave the ground and the flight begins to make its' way toward the chosen destination. Once in the air everything takes on a new perspective. Things are viewed in a way they can not be when you are on the ground.

That's what I am feeling this morning! Free To Fly Ministries has been cleared for takeoff and the engines are starting to "rev" up for the burst down the run way. A little fear and a definite rush fill my being as "Free To Fly" leaves the ground. I know as I leave the relative safety of Pastoral Ministry and the faith journey begins that I will see things with a different perspective and trust the Lord for the flights that lie ahead. Let the journey begin!
