From Stony Lonesome To Bear Wallow - Jesus Reigns

Seymour, Indiana First Church of the Nazarene
Southern Indiana is one of my favorite places in our nation.  It is home to hard working, no nonsense, "red, white, and blue" Americans.  They are a people who are not ashamed to proclaim their love for God and country!  As we drove from place to place we came through places with intreging names like STONY LONESOME, BEAN BLOSSOM, GNAW BONE, and BEAR WALLOW!  Places, whose names reflect the early days of the Hoosier state.

As we criss-crossed the rolling hills from Sunday through Wednesday with preaching stops in Crouthersville, Columbus, Brownsburg, and Seymour, we were reminded of how different individual churches can be even in a small geographical area. Worship styles were different, buildings were different, ages of the congregants were different, and music preferences were different. But one thing remained the same; a deep desire to listen to the voice of the Lord as He spoke the music and the Word.

I believe that Kingdom business was done and that lives were changed. I believe that the churches of the Seymour Zone will be stronger because of what the Holy Spirit accomplished during our times together. I pray that churches and pastors will be better able to work together to win others to Jesus.
Just 48 hours before we began our journey through Indiana, numerous tornadoes blew through the area leaving nearly two dozens Hoosiers dead and 1,000s with their lives in ruins. News footage of the disaster was heart wrenching sobering. Lives and dreams were changed in an instant. A different kind of Wind blew through our services and while lives and dreams were changed in an instant it was not a disaster but an in breathing of a new and better day for His church and His people.
